Chris Holland - Head Chef, Alderley Edge Hotel
Born at Wardle, Rochdale, Chris attended the local Hopwood College and, at an early age, discovered the flavour and aroma of fresh food that came from his local bakery. He learned how to cook great dishes using quality local ingredients which still forms the philosophy and ethos behind his ‘take’ on modern British and international cuisine.
For many years Chris worked alongside well known leading chefs, and learned from their experiences, before joining Alderley Edge Hotel. In 2006 he became head chef and has since developed a style and reputation for perfection, cleanliness of flavour, stability and innovation.
The AA rating of three rosettes acknowledges "a committed team of people who have all contributed to creating food that just doesn't exist elsewhere," says Chris. "Our main aim has always been to provide our customers with the most exciting food we can achieve but to be acknowledged by the hard-to-please AA judges really is the icing on a very nice cake.
